InterX / Scenar Therapy in Banbury, Oxfordshire

InterX and Scenar are neurostimulation therapies that use gentle electrical impulses to activate the nervous system’s natural healing response. Both are non-invasive, drug-free, and suitable for a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions.

Ann Knott has used Scenar therapy since training with Dr. Zulia Valeyeva-Frost in 2002, the leading Russian practitioner in the UK at the time. She now primarily uses InterX, which supersedes Scenar in her practice.

Background

What is Scenar?

SCENAR stands for Self-Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulator. It was developed by Russian scientists for use in the Soviet space programme to keep cosmonauts in peak physical condition in environments where conventional medicine was unavailable.

Scenar works by transmitting electrical impulses through the skin to the nervous system. Each impulse is different from the last, the device reads and responds to the body’s feedback in real time. In response, the nervous system releases neuropeptides into the bloodstream, which gradually help restore balance (homeostasis) throughout the body.

The primary treatment

What is InterX therapy?

InterX is a development of the Scenar principle and is the primary neurostimulation therapy used at the clinic. It delivers interactive neurostimulation through a handheld device applied to the skin at areas of pain or inflammation.

The feedback from the skin continuously adjusts what the device delivers. Treatment is targeted to specific points identified by changes in skin colour, texture, or sensation, making it more precise than fixed-point electrical treatments.
